Who we are

Zog (“we”, “us”) provides file hosting at zog.watch. This policy explains what we collect when you use the service and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Account data — name, email address, password hash (if you use email sign-up), and profile image when provided by a social login such as Discord.
  • Auth provider data — identifiers from OAuth providers (for example Discord user id) needed to sign you in.
  • Files you upload — file contents stored as private objects, plus metadata (filename, size, content type, timestamps, ownership).
  • Share links — tokens and settings you create to share files.
  • Billing data — plan, quota, and customer identifiers. Payment card details are processed by Stripe (via Autumn); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical logs — approximate IP address, user agent, and request metadata used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

How we use information

  • Provide, secure, and improve the service
  • Authenticate you and manage sessions
  • Enforce storage quotas and rate limits
  • Process subscriptions and invoices
  • Send transactional email (verification, password reset)
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and illegal content reports
  • Comply with law when required

File retention

Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 30 days. Soft-deleted files may be purged sooner. Deleted data may remain briefly in backups or logs until those systems rotate.

Processors and infrastructure

We use third-party services to operate Zog, including hosting (for example Vercel), databases (Neon), object storage (AWS S3), caching/rate limiting (Upstash), authentication providers (Discord when you choose it), email (Resend), and billing (Autumn / Stripe). Those providers process data only as needed to deliver their services under their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with processors listed above, when you create a share link that exposes a file to anyone with the link, or when required by law or to protect the service and users.

Security

Files are stored privately and accessed via short-lived signed URLs. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; use Zog accordingly.

Your choices

  • Update or delete files from your dashboard
  • Revoke share links
  • Delete your account from Settings (where available)
  • Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account data we control

Children

Zog is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Do not use the service if you are under that age.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
